This week’s plant is Phlox subulata in four varieties!

Creeping Phlox is deer resistant and attracts butterflies!

 

Phlox Subulata

var. 'Fort Hill'

Plant Details: Zones 2-8

Height: 3-6” | Spread: 12-18”

Easy to care for low, creeping cover with deep pink and fragrant flowers that bloom late April through May.

This plant can tolerate hot sun and poor soil conditions.

Shear back to half size after flowering to encourage re-bloom and dense foliage.

 

var. 'Purple Beauty'

Plant Details: Zones 3-8

Height: 3-6” | Spread: 24-36”

Low maintenance, creeping cover with fragrant blooms of light purple with contrasting dark purple centers. The plant becomes enveloped with flowers through May.

This plant prefers partial to full sun and moist well drained soil. Cut faded flowers to encourage re-bloom and prevent seeding.

 

var. 'Scarlet Flame'

Plant Details: Zones 3-8

Height: 3-6” | Spread: 24-36”

Easy to care for creeping cover with flashy deep magenta-red  flowers that bloom late April through May.

This plant can tolerate full sun and dry soils.

Shear back to half size after flowering to encourage re-bloom and dense foliage.

 

var. 'Snowflakes'

Plant Details: Zones 3-8

Height: 3-6” | Spread: 24-36”

Easy to care for low, creeping cover with heavy white blooms from late April through May.

Grow in loose, well-drained, average soil. Cut back halfway after flowering to encourage rebloom.
